Rooted in Tradition, Inspired by Innovation
My work is deeply influenced by my studies at Naropa University and over a year of Insight Meditation retreats with Jack Kornfield, PhD, and Trudy Goodman,PhD, in my 20s. As a certified Mindfulness Teacher (CMT-P) and an authorized Insight Meditation Teacher, I’ve led retreats around the world, mentored and trained hundreds of meditation and mindfulness teachers, and collaborated on pioneering mindfulness apps like Buddhify, including early explorations of mindfulness in VR.
Alongside my sister, Dr. Kirsten West, I co-founded Mindful Wellness Space—a collaborative healing environment that takes an integrative approach to health; including meditation, functional medicine, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and other restorative modalities.
Married to Vincent Horn, a groundbreaking podcast founder, we’ve co-led Buddhist Geeks conferences and retreats while embracing the journey of parenthood.
Born and raised in the Southern Appalachian region, where I now reside in Swannanoa, NC, I grew up Episcopalian but later found a deep connection to Buddhist wisdom. My practice is a blend of these spiritual roots and a secular, scientific appreciation for mindfulness, offering a grounded yet innovative approach to well-being.
